I have just been given the gift of scrap blogging by Megan! I know, as if I needed another crafty thing to take up my time. It's something I've been playing around with and it's fun. I'll be posting some of my latest creations as they come along. Check out my first page:

~A Rita Report~
Rita was happy to report she has completed 28 radiation treatments and she believes she has approximately 10 left. WOO-HOO! She's a bit crispy in the area of treatment but is in great spirits knowing the end of this ordeal is approaching rapidly.

~5 Ways We Have Gone Paperless~
Recently, I was tagged by a fellow Holistic Mama (Jennifer), to write something about how we’ve gone paperless and I’m proud to share with you the following list:
1. No more “poop bags”! We have decided to use our Wegman’s Totes when grocery shopping. Yes, this means that we have to be more creative when picking up Xsu-Xsu’s poop. Our stock of plastic bags from the grocery store has significantly decreased and we look forward to the day when they are no longer in use!
2. Just say no! When asked the question, “would you like a receipt” we say no. I read somewhere on another blog that the amount of paper used to print receipts in one week could be wrapped around the earth (or something like that).
3. Banking on-line.
4. Google, Google and more Google….did you know that you can text Google from your cell phone if you’re in need of a phone number and/or location? Gone are the days of maps and phone books.
5. Evite….it’s a wonderful thing.
We really try to be as green as possible. Whether it's these five easy ways to cut down on paper or going organic whenever the occasion arises, we're trying to make a difference in our small corner of our world. More lists to follow...
I'd love to hear your ideas as well.

~91 Years Young~
Grandma Casey turned 91 on Sunday. We were able to get together for some cake and ice cream before we came home. She looked great and was cracking the whip to get that chip and dip plate refilled (just like old times). Don't for a minute think I put the chips and dip down before passing it! I know Mark and Jennifer know what I'm talking about =)
Grandma looked great and seemed to have fun. It was really nice to see her. I am so grateful to Kathy and Mr. Carr for taking her in and assisting in her everyday needs. Having personal contact and conversations on a daily basis will be so beneficial to her.
~Parade Day~
The St. Patrick's Day Parade Day has come and gone. Finn braved the chilly weather and saw his first parade. We had fun however, it was quite nippy. Great Aunt Kathy came to spend the evening with our little guy so Mama and Dada could go, relax and see family and friends at the Emerald Society Party. Thanks Great Aunt Kathy!!

~A Rita Report~
In her own words:
Hi. Had my second radiation treatment this morning. Everything went fine. In and out in 25 minutes and it should get shorter. They did a couple extra things today. I just went to see Dr. Bogdasarian for my follow up. He said everything looks great. He was really pleased with the way I responded to the treatment. He said there was hardly anything left of the lump. He's retiring Aug. 1. I told him I would need his home phone number. He thought that was pretty funny. So now I just meet with Dr. Kloss every 4 months for 5 years (he's going to be my new best friend!) and finish my radiation probably by mid April if my claculations are correct. Then onward and upward!!
Correction:
When I said there was hardly anything left of the lump I meant that when he did the lumpectomy there was hardly anything there. I kind of sounds like I meant now. And now.....there's totally nothing.

Just the Black Notes
It doesn't matter what denomination you are (or lack there of)...this will certainly move you. The video is a bit unclear but the audio is right on.

Recently, we had to say goodbye to very close friends of ours, Andy and Julie. Andy got a great job opportunity and had to move out West =(
We wish them the best and can't wait to see them (hopefully soon). We miss them already... Here they are with Finn just before we said our goodbyes.
